Methodology

How the data is built

Barbed Hire ingests publicly accessible company careers pages and ATS endpoints, normalizes the job data, and computes company-level and market-level labor-demand signals.

Acquisition

We collect from public ATS systems and company career pages. Different providers require different adapters. Some pipelines rely on supported provider families; others use hardened custom adapters.

Normalization

Titles, functions, locations, remote indicators, and selected hiring signals are normalized from the raw posting data. Coverage quality varies by provider and by company.

Freshness

The system refreshes repeatedly during the day, but cadence and success can vary by adapter, provider, anti-bot controls, and site availability. Use company-level freshness and health indicators before making decisions.

Caveats

We do not claim complete market coverage or perfect classification. Job counts can be affected by first-page-only failures, provider caps, missing locations, or shifts in upstream ATS behavior.
